Bosahan British Simmentals

The Bosahan Herd of British Simmentals Was Established in 2006

We are members of the Premium Cattle Health Scheme and aim to continually improve the E.B.V.s (Estimated Breeding Values) of our herd. Young Simmentals Bulls usually for sale together with a selection of females. Check out our Stock For Sale Pages.

Following the sale of the Trewardreva dairy herd we purchased 4 Abbey Chase Simmental cows, bred by the Gregorys at St Columb, from Andrew Pellowe (Chicken George) at Porthtowan. At the offical Bristol society sale the following month we added our stock bull Winford Storm by Blackford Harvester and three more females Atlow Petruska with a calf at foot (Atlow Petruka Star), Beanhill Penny and Grangewood Paris. These 7 females produced 17 heifer calves in three years!!

In 2007 we returned to Bristol and purchased Sabre Satin and Dinton Henrietta 5th and in 2009 returned with Brigstock Venus and Sterling Noontime's Wanda. We were also fortunate in securing Hockenhull Natalie 48th at the 2009 historic dispersal sale. In 2010 we added Bolankin Anita puchased at Truro market.

Atlow Petruska was awarded Elite Cow status in 2009 and produced 10 calves  with an average calving interval of 370 days.

In 2011 we travelled to Scotland and secured Skerrington Armada to replace our original stock bull. With over 150 registered calves and now trait leader for 200 day weights his progeny is represented in commercial and pedigree herds across the British Isles. Our last female acquisition was bought in Northern Ireland. We were delighted that we were fortunate to purchase the stylish heifer Ballinalare Courtney, d.o.b. 08.07.2011 at the September  2013 production sale. By Auchorachan Wizard with a  TI of +81 and SRI of +88 we feel Courtney is an asset to our herd.

In 2015 we attended the British Simmental National Show at Three Counties Show and purchased our first polled bull Heathbrow Freddie Star 14. Reserve male champion on the day he has sired over 65 registered calves and his progeny have also enjoyed show ring success including reserve female champion at Royal Cornwall Show with Bosahan Jessica Star in 2019. By Celtic Comet his maternal line goes back to AWL Starlet imported from Canada as a calf.

In 2019 we visit the February Stirling Bull Sales and return with Knockreagh Immanuel and Kinclaven Infusion (P)
